The United States Mint released the highly anticipated Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin on January 22, 2009. Coin collectors are excited for the modern day reproduction of the original $20 Saint Gaudens double eagle coin, and the coin sales are blazing.
Considered as the most beautiful coin ever made by the US Mint, this 1-ounce, pure 24-karat gold coin features Lady Liberty striding forward on the obverse, and a flying eagle in a sunrise on the reverse.

There are a few modifications between the 2009 Ultra High Relief double eagle and the original 1907 Saint Gaudens double eagle coin, including the Arabic numerals in depicting the year 2009, additional four stars added to represent all 50 states, and the inscription IN GOD WE TRUST, which was omitted in the 1907 version. Also, you can find "E Pluribus Unum" around the rim of the coin.
